HAYS, KS (October 16-17) – Over 200 race teams converged on RPM Speedway in Hays, KS, for the 3rd Annual Fall Nationals on Friday & Saturday, October 16-17, representing 13 different states. Qualifying heats were held Friday night, however a one hour rain delay forced track officials to postpone the second round of heat races for the IMCA Modifieds, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks until Saturday afternoon.

PARK CITY, Kan. -- Former five-time series champion Brian Franz completed his sweep of Hard Rock Hotel – Casino feature events held this year at 81 Speedway as he won his fourth O’Reilly/NCRA modified event in as many races, this one in dramatic fashion, as he passed race long leader Brian Powers on the final lap. While Franz added to his dominance at the track, it was veteran Dan Daniels of Humboldt, Kansas picking up his first ever O’Reilly/NCRA championship.

Only 3 races were rained out in the '09 season, the weather was cool for most of that time and the racers, fans and sponsors all ventured out to their favorite local dirt track. Why shouldn't the season end on a high note? It did. A total of 99 racers checked in to do battle on a night that was predicted with cold and possible rain, but turned out to be pretty nice.

Buckner, MO (October 25th, 2009) - The MLRA congratulates Coffeyville, Kansas' Al Purkey for capturing the 2009 MLRA Championship and Archie, Missouri's Matt Johnson for taking home Top Rookie honors in 2009. The title was Al's Sixth MLRA Championship of his career breaking a tie for the most all time as Belton, Missouri's Alan Vaughn has five to his credit. Purkey topped defending MLRA Champion John Anderson by just 10 points in the season long battle.
